Topical Studies

Resurrection offers a wide variety of education opportunities and topics at different times throughout the year. 

The World of Luther – A look at what was happening in the Northern and Italian Renaissance world leading to the advent of the Protestant Reformation. Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in classroom 5/6 beginning September 20 through October 25. Six-week sessions lead by Joy Rowland. Topics in order are: Luther's Early Life, Luther's Travels to Rome, Luther in Wittenberg, Luther Makes his Stand at Worms, Luther's Legacy Continues, A Word about "Dear Kate" (Katharina von Bora).

REFORMATION ROOTS is four video classes about Luther.  It will be taught Sundays in rooms 5/6 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. by Linda Babcock and Joanne Auerbach beginning October 1. Topics: Winds of change for Europe and Luther, Scholar to Outlaw, Heretic to Hero, Scholar to Father.

Sunday Bible Study

Join us each Sunday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Administration Conference Room for a study of the books of the Bible. Lessons are presented using PowerPoint slides so sit back, relax and enjoy the fellowship. For further details contact Bob Schut at 939-4080.

Sun City/NE Roseville Bible Study

This group meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 1 p.m. and the group selects the topics to be studied. For more information, contact Noreene Shaffer at 663-5527.

Contemplative Prayer 

Lectio Divina and Centering Prayer Group meets weekly on Wednesdays, 1:00 p.m. in the Library of the Faith Center. The group reads the upcoming Sunday Gospel. Then, through the reading, centering prayer and meditation, seeks meaning from the Living Word to grow in discipleship. The process of transformation in Christ, both in ourselves and in others, is embraced through the practice of Centering Prayer. Contact Tanda Ainsworth at

Fellowship Breakfast 

Men and women of all ages are invited to participate in this monthly breakfast. In addition to enjoying great food and fellowship, programs include a range of stimulating discussions and spiritual growth opportunities. The breakfast is held the 2nd Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Priscilla’s Circle

This study group welcomes women of all ages and begins by sharing coffee, tea and goodies. This year the group is studying The People of God: Unity in the Midst of Diversity and meets on the 3rd Monday of the month beginning in September from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. in the Carlson Library.

Resurrection Connection

You may be considering joining Resurrection’s ministry or maybe you’ve been with us for a while and are curious about the Lutheran perspective on living God’s love in world. If you have been wondering about these things and/or if you would also like to make new connections and build new relationships at Resurrection, then this journey is for you! Life as a Lutheran 

This course is offered twice a year and is for all who are interested in a great review and going a bit deeper into the Lutheran Christian faith perspective. This is a great follow-up for if you’ve attended the Resurrection Connection sessions, have recently joined the congregation OR are a life-long Lutheran.
