Pastor Don Haven: Senior Pastor

Pastor Don became Resurrection’s Senior Pastor in February 2008.He graduated from Concordia College in Minnesota and went on to earn a Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pastor Don has a wide experience both in parish ministry and in development, most recently for Lutheran World Relief. His ministry is enhanced by his musical talents which include singing and playing the trumpet and guitar. Pastor Haven's wife Cindy is his "partner in ministry." They have three children and two grandchildren. Both love to ski and enjoy daily walks.

Pastor Al Schmidt: Visitation Pastor

Pastor Al joined Resurrection as a Visitation Pastor in January 2007. He graduated from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN in 1960 and served in parishes at Litchville, ND, Revillo and Pierre in South Dakota, and Fairfax and Appleton in Minnesota. During phase one of his retirement he kept busy with Sunday service fill-in for many congregations, some part-time interim ministry, and a part-time visitation ministry. In phase two of retirement, he and his wife moved to California to be near family and soon found himself busy again.

Pete Gonzales: Youth Ministry Leader

Pete joined LCR as interim Youth Leader in January of 2008. Pete’s background includes a BS in Psychology and advanced studies in exercise physiology. He has been a recreation specialist, a summer sports camp director, and a coach for high school varsity baseball, Little League, and soccer. Pete is a drummer for the LCR “Winds of Worship”. Pete and his wife Dawn have two children. They’ve been members of LCR for 15 years. Pete also works for Sacramento County with institutional youth programs.

Kathy Kimbrough: Church Secretary

Kathy, a native of Sacramento, and her family joined Resurrection in 1983. She started working in the church office as a part-time church secretary. Her position has become full time and has grown into a church office administrator. Kathy can be contacted at the church office or at lcr@lcrchurch.org

Brenda Pieper: Lay Ministries Coordinator

Brenda joined Resurrection’s staff as Lay Ministries Coordinator in January 2006. She attended San Diego State University where she majored in psychology and journalism. She comes to us with valuable experience and a great deal of enthusiasm. Brenda can be contacted at the church office or at lcrlaymin@lcrchurch.org

Diane McCauley: Events Coordinator

Diane joined the Resurrection staff in February 2006 as Events Coordinator, where she coordinates events held in the Resurrection Faith Center by church members and members of the community. Diane can be contacted at the church office at 916-791-4661, ext. 301 or at lcrevents@lcrchurch.org

John Murdock: Maintenance/Grounds Manager

John joined the staff at Resurrection in January of 2003. He brings a vast and varied body of experience to the Maintenance team. John and his wife, Anita, and their two children, Erik and Kristine, moved from the Bay Area (Los Gatos) to Granite Bay in 1988. Their son, Erik, is currently serving in the Air Force. Kristine enjoys her school and her friends. John left the engineering field of RF and Microwave in 2002. The Murdocks enjoy family life and some travel.
