Approved Spending plan for 2023-24 as proposed

Pastors’ Report
1) Gained 19 new young families towards our goal of 25! That is quite a success despite not reaching our goal.
2) There are 58 new members total this year bringing us to 655 members (approx. 10% growth).
3) Pastors reported on progress from last year’s goals and objectives. All of which were extremely successful thanks to the congregations’ involvement and focus.
4) Pastors shared gratitude for each staff member and their dedication to ministry.

Strategic Objectives for 2023-24
GOAL: Gain 30 new young families by July 2024
1) Increase Member Involvement
2) Keep Telling Our Story
3) Steward Facilities & Campus
4) Seek New Vision

Council Report
1)The council started the year welcoming 2 new members to council:
2) The audit team was formed and audited the last 2 years of finance records – no significant issue was found.
3) There were a number of staffing changes/adjustments made during the year that were reviewed/approved.
4) Council was very happy to be able to support the Shambalai team and amazed at the passion the Shambalai team showed and the fundraising that was accomplished.
5) Council also spent a lot of time reviewing and looking at the goals/objectives set last year to try keep moving forward on as many fronts as reasonable.
6) Pastor Evaluations and Compensation
Pastoral Evaluations for both Pastor Ralph and Pastor Derek were completed last fall
Synod updates pastor Compensation guidelines annually.  Both pastor’s salaries have fallen far below guidelines.
Current pastor salaries are about $94,000.  Synod guidelines recommend salaries of $108,000-$116,000. Current salaries are $14,000 - $22,000 short of the synod’s recommended minimum salaries. (15-18%)
Council felt trying to make up this large of a gap in one year would be too difficult to handle in our budget, unfortunately even the council’s recommended raises (7 and 9%) in the end were reduced to 5 and 7% in the proposed budget to keep the overall increase in budget in a reasonable range.
The council wants the congregation to be aware of this and that the council will review salaries again next year and hopefully we will be able to do more to close the gap to the synod recommended salaries.
